Aerial Torpedo Mechanic (662) Enlisted Personnel
Assembles and installs aerial torpedoes used on combat missions and services those used for training.
Inspects and installs gyroscopes, exploder mechanism, and head. Tests air pressure in chamber and checks fuel supply. Tests Lanyard and safety wire. Checks main control valves connected with air chamber. Checks main control valves connected with air chamber. Places torpedoes on bomb cart, transports them to airplane, and installs them on torpedo racks. Disassembles, lubricates, adjusts, and replaces worn parts of torpedoes that have been returned from training missions.
Must be able to make mechanical adjustments to close tolerances.
