Parts Clerk, Automotive (348) Enlisted Personnel
Receives, stores, and issues automobile or construction equipment accessories, spare parts, and tools in connection with such operations as a military motor pool, repair shop, parts supply depot, or warehouse.
Receives incoming parts on credit memorandum or transfer memorandum and prepares stock record card or enters data on previously prepared record card. Checks parts received against memorandum to insure accuracy of numbers. Stores parts in bins or rack compartments, arranging items in such manner as will facilitate issue and taking of inventories, marking all parts with identification numbers. Issues or distributes parts to personnel, departments, or sections in accordance with written memorandum, noting each withdrawal on the appropriate bin card. Periodically takes inventory of stock on hand and prepares requests for such items as will adequately maintain a balanced stock.
May prepare price lists and cost records on expendable items.
Must have working knowledge of parts, including description, nomenclature, and interchangeability of parts. Must be familiar with supply procedure and regulations governing accountability and responsibility for Government property, including the maintenance of stock and stock record accounts.
