4th Infantry Division Photoshoot

A selection of images from Strictly GI's private photoshoot representing members of the 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division during their progress inland from Utah Beach, 6 June 1944.

Several members of Strictly GI have always had a passion for the relatively-forgotten 4th Infantry Division and its actions on D-Day and the following days during Operation "Overlord". Landing on Utah Beach on the morning of 6 June 1944, the 4th was responsible for securing the important beachhead as well as securing links inland to elements of the 101st Airborne Division.

The group is extremely lucky to have at its disposal, access to some fantastic World War II sites and locations in its local area, and so it was decided to select one that was appropriate for the scenery found in the area of Utah Beach. With access to original World War II coastal defences and spanning marshland, the location was perfect for this private photoshoot.
