Crowland & Thorney 1940s Weekend 2025

21st June - 22nd June 2025

The Crowland and Thorney 1940s Weekend is scheduled for June 21 and 22, 2025, at Park Farm in Thorney, near Peterborough. This annual event commemorates the 80th anniversaries of significant World War II milestones, including D-Day, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. A central attraction is the Crowland Buffalo LVT, an amphibious vehicle unearthed in 2021 after being buried for over 75 years, which will be prominently displayed. The weekend offers a rich array of activities, featuring live battle re-enactments, living history groups, vintage stalls, and a variety of military, agricultural, and classic vehicles. Attendees can immerse themselves in the era with continuous 1940s music provided by 40s Home Front and live performances from artists such as The Lahdidahs, Jane Darling, and Alan Jackson.

The event operates from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. Admission is priced at £10 per adult, with accompanied children under 16 granted free entry. Saturday evening features a 1940s dance from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, headlined by the Kalamazoo Dance Band, with tickets available at £10 each. For those wishing to extend their stay, weekend camping is offered at £25 per pitch, covering Friday and Saturday nights. The event is organized by dedicated volunteers from the Crowland Buffalo Association, with proceeds supporting the restoration of the Crowland Buffalo and the establishment of a museum.
